Kalanda DeJarnett, known to many as Mama Locs, began her natural hair journey in 2019 after years of embracing loose natural styles. As a first-time mom, she faced the challenge of balancing hair care, nurturing her newborn, and working full-time as a registered nurse. It was during this period that she discovered the transformative beauty of sisterlocks and microlocks.In 2019, Kalanda had her locs established, and the following year, she trained to become a registered sisterlock consultant. Her passion for natural hair continued to flourish, leading her to become a licensed natural hair stylist in 2024. As a mother of three, a dedicated wife, and a homeschooling parent, Kalanda values the flexibility that being a business owner provides. It allows her to seamlessly balance family life while pursuing her passion for natural hair care. Kalanda is deeply committed to helping others on their loc journey and takes pride in being part of a community that celebrates the beauty and versatility of natural hair.
